2010 Nebraska Housing Study
Program Description
The Profile of Nebraska, sponsored by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA), is undertaken annually to continue improving, enhancing, expanding, and making more readily available information about homeownership and rental housing needs in the State. The objective is to continually provide current, high-quality, relevant information about factors that influence the development, production, use, rehabilitation, and need for housing and housing services in Nebraska’s local communities.
Volume I, the Profile of Nebraska, contains information describing the State in its entirety, as well as nine sub-regions. These regions are consistent with other housing, community, and economic development activities conducted by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, with the exception that Nebraska’s three most populous counties, Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy, are uniquely separated.
Volume II represents a county-by-county analysis, identifying pertinent statistics for all of Nebraska’s 93 counties. It is a large report, and as such is released as a two-volume report.
Volume III examines the 16 Class I cities in the state, as well as Gering and Sidney. It represents a summary analysis of demographic, economic, and housing statistics, as well as population, rental vacancy data and housing production and cost information. The Class I cities are Beatrice, Bellevue, Columbus, Fremont, Gering, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, La Vista, Lexington, Lincoln, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha, Papillion, Scottsbluff, Sidney, and South Sioux City.
