NIFA Accepting Application For Section 1602 Funds

NIFA accepting applications for Section 1602 Funds
NIFA announces that applications are being accepted for Section 1602 funds. Applications are due in NIFA’s office at 1230 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, NE no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 29, 2010. To be eligible for an award of Section 1602 funds, the development must have received a 2009 award or 2010 award in the 2010 Round One application cycle or CRANE program for 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). Therefore, developments that have submitted a current LIHTC application in CRANE or 2010 LIHTC Round One may simultaneously apply for Section 1602 funds.
If an application has requested HOME funds from the Department of Economic Development as part of its LIHTC submission, the development may also apply for Section 1602 funds. The development will first be considered for HOME funds and subsequently considered for Section 1602 funds if a Section 1602 application has been submitted by the deadline and the development is not recommended for an award of HOME funds.
