New Veteran's Exception to the First-Time Buyer Requirement
NIFA is pleased to announce that the federal government has temporarily waived, for certain veterans and their spouses, the requirement that borrowers under NIFA's single family mortgage bond programs be "first-time homebuyers." This means, eligble veterans and their spouses who qualify for NIFA's First Home Super, First Home Focused, First Home, First Home Plus, and HBA programs will not be deemed ineligible if they previously owned a home.
This exception is scheduled to be available to loans reserved through December 31, 2007.
For more detailed information please read the Veteran's Exemption Memo from Single Family Program Manager, Jacki Young.
