New First Home Plus Mortgage Available
By reducing the closing costs of a mortgage loan, the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority’s (NIFA) new First Home Plus mortgage is another powerful tool to assist first-time homebuyers.
The First Home Plus mortgage features a below market interest rate that is priced to create a “no points mortgage” for the homebuyer. This structure lowers the amount of cash required at closing.
The First Home Plus mortgage does not include a 1.00% origination fee and .75% discount point, but does include the same program limits, regulations and requirements that exist with all other NIFA single family mortgage products.
On November 3, 2006, First Home Plus was priced at 6.04% and available through all NIFA participating lenders.
NIFA is a quasi-governmental organization that works to provide Nebraskans a broad range of financial resources for homeownership, rental housing, agriculture, manufacturing, medical and community development endeavors. NIFA also provides technical assistance for activities related to these areas.
For more information, talk with any NIFA participating lender or contact Jacki Young at firstname.lastname@example.org or (402) 434-3900.
